  1. You can not just offer the hands-free convenience light by a spotlight. But what a headlight apart from others? Look for clues on headlights packaging or in the specifications on product pages found at REI.com. Most are based on newly adopted testing standards will be described later in this article.

  2. If you are in a hurry, here is a crash course in headlamp selection:

    Search lumens. Lumens tell you how much the light is at the source.
    Look over lumens. Lumen say a large part of a spotlight story, not just its history. (Not everyone, after all, a headlight, which blazes with 350 lumens.) What really matters is how well (and for how long) a spotlight-scoped the trail at your feet, for example, lights. A spotlight true value lies in how effectively it uses its lumen to perform these tasks. So 2 other specifications are also useful for evaluating performance of the light:
    Lighting distance (how far the lamp "usable light" project).
    Runtime (battery life).
